Review
- The game jam went well, considering that we barely advertised it. There were 4 people in attendance. We had a lot of fun, and all of us said that we wanted to do it again. We brainstormed some things to possibly get more attendance in the future.
- It was supposed to be 8 hours total, but in reality there were only 6 hours of us working on the games. Even so, there were actual working games produced at the end of it, which was impressive in such a short time.
- In total there were probably about 3 man-hours of planning, advertising, and prep work — barely anything. If I or other people actually put effort into preparing the jam, I think there would be a lot more engagement.
- All the participants seemed to "get the point" very quickly and were able to work independently on their games. All had some software dev background, though not all had game dev background.
- We wanted to have 2-3 person teams, but there were not enough people, so we worked independently. We gave a progress report and demo every hour, and that was engaging.
